TYPES OF

THERAPY

We do what works.

Cognitive Behavioral Thearpy (CBT)

Exposures and Response Prevention (ERP)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

I know, these therapy names are a mouthful! What's most important to know is that these are 'evidence-based treatments' which means that years of research has shown that they work. By helping you see and understand unhelpful patterns, these therapies can provide you with tools and skills to break out of painful cycles, improve your mental health and build a life that your value.

In treatment we will work together to develop awareness of how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect one another, build skills to handle difficult emotions and make behavior change, and practice these skills in a variety of situations so you may be able to support yourself moving forward.

My approach to therapy is highly compassionate, accepting and warm, while at the same time very goal- and change-oriented. My goal is always to create a non-judgmental space where you feel fully supported, and to give you the tools you need to step outside your comfort zone, reduce anxiety, move towards your goals and make lasting change in your life.

EXPOSURE AND

RESPONSE

PREVENTION (ERP)

The gold-standard treatment for OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) affects millions of people every year, so if you're seeking treatment for this painful disorder, first, know that you are not alone! Second, I want you to know that there are excellent treatments available to work through the anxiety and reclaim your life from OCD.

The 'gold standard' treatment for OCD is Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). This treatment involves first identifying your obsessions, intrusive thoughts and compulsions, and understanding the OCD cycle you may be stuck in.  Then, we work together to gradually face your fears and practice resisting compulsions, and by doing this, break out of the OCD cycle!

I know this may sound scary (I get it!), and that's exactly why I will be there to coach and guide you every step of the way, providing tools and support through this process that can lead to freedom from the OCD.

I specialize in supporting individuals who are struggling with various forms of OCD including (but not limited to) Contamination, "Just Right", Relationship, Sexual Orientation, Orderliness/Symmetry, Real Events, Harm and Pedophilia OCD

TELEHEALTH

Making therapy possible from anywhere.

The realities and responsibilities of our lives– work, school, family, relationships, driving commutes and perhaps most recently COVID-19– can all make it difficult to come into the therapy office every week. Virtual therapy options are here to help by making therapy possible outside the therapy office. Using a secure virtual platform, we can meet you where you are– whether that's in your office, your bedroom or at your kitchen table. Any space that is private and feels comfortable for you can become our therapy room.

*To ensure the safety and well-being of all clients, their families and the JacksonPsych team, all therapy sessions will be  conducted via our virtual platform during the COVID-19 pandemic.*

PROVIDING A

SAFE SPACE

Inclusivity is our priority.

I prioritize cultural competency and take a non-judgmental, open-minded approach to therapy. I am committed to creating a compassionate and safe space that invites discussion and exploration of socio-cultural identities including race, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, religious faith, etc. I recognize that every person has a unique story and experience, and my priority is to create a space where every client feels comfortable discussing their life and the unique stressors and strengths that may be related to their identity.

I deeply value providing support  and therapy to individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, the African American community and other traditionally under-served groups. In therapy, I strive to gain understanding of each person’s unique identities and integrate this into treatment.

THERAPY

FEES

Individual therapy sessions are $175 per 50-minute session. We also offer sliding scale rates for individuals with financial need. The sliding scale fee is determined based on your annual household income and the number of people living in that household/off that income.  Although I do not currently accept insurance, I am happy to provide all receipts necessary for reimbursement through your insurance plan.

Fees can be discussed in greater detail in the initial phone consultation, and you can find additional information on our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) page.
